Lab : General Computing Laboratory I |
General Computing Laboratory I is the first of twin computing laboratories in the department. This laboratory is used to cater to the computing needs of the second and third year students of the department. The laboratory contains 25 desktop computers with Ubuntu Operating System and connected to the campus LAN. The laboratory is used to conduct the experiments related to the subjects like Operating Systems, Database Management Systems, Systems Programming.
Equipment : 25 Desktop Computers with Ubuntu Operating System, 24 port Managed Network Switch, LCD Projector.

General Computing Laboratory II is another laboratory used by the students of second and third year for conducting the practicals of the subjects like Web Engineering, Business Information Systems and Software Systems. The laboratory contains 25 desktop computers with Ubuntu and Windows XP platforms (dual boot). The machines are connected to the campus LAN and also to the departmental servers.

Lab : Software Engineering Laboratory |
Software Engineering laboratory of the department is designed to allow the students to work in the area of Software Engineering, Object Oriented Software Engineering and Software Project Management. This laboratory contains Umbrello Software Modeller as a tool for understanding the concepts of Software Engineering. Umbrello is also used by the students to document their software designs.
Equipment : 32 Computers with Ubuntu Operating System, 48 port Managed Network Switch, LCD Projector, Software Engineering tools (like Umbrello).

The Project Laboratory of the department is dedicated for the final year students to allow them to work on their Minor and Major undergraduate projects. Two latest desktop computers are exclusively allotted to each project group. The laboratory also has a high-speed WiFi access to the campus LAN to help the students simultaneously work on their laptops and the allotted computers. This laboratory also contain various open-source softwares which are used by the students for their project work.

The Computer Architecture laboratory is under development. Once developed, this laboratory will be useful for conducting the experiments related to Computer Organisation and Architecture, Microprocessors and Assembly language programming and Computer Peripherals and Interfacing. The laboratory will also contain computers with open-source assembler (NASM) to study the concepts of microprocessors and assembly language programming. The lab is established to provide hands on experience to master students of electrical engineering department under specialization in power electronics. The available lab kits facilitate to nurture the technical competence among the students. The in-house developed lab kits provides an environment to learn about steady state and dynamic behavior of static switches, performance analysis of uncontrolled and controlled AC-DC converters, choppers for speed control of DC machines, buck, boost and buck-boost DC converters for switch mode power supplies. It also provides facility to learn on state of art facilities like DSP controlled scalar and vector controlled AC drive and dSPACE 1104 R D controller board.

The lab is dedicated to provide facilities among the master students of electrical engineering department to develop their experimental projects. This lab is developed to provide a platform for software modeling and simulation of major sub domain of electrical engineering domain. The department has technical expertise in the area of Power system, Power Electronics, Electrical Machine, Control Engineering and Embedded System. Now a days, these areas demands software simulation and modeling of newly developed concepts by the faculties as well as students. Apart from this, software computing lab is also provide a resource for general computing to the regular curricula like Operating System.
Equipment : Desktop Computers: Intel i3, Intel Cor2Duo, AMD64 based computers more than thirteen in numbers. One Intel Xeon based rack mounted blade server. These machines are installed with Ubuntu 12.04LTS 23-bit Operating System, Sci lab, Kile 2.1, Inkscape, gnuplot, lyx software from the open source domain. These machines also equipped with Windows 7 Operating System along with Power System Software (EDSA), Kiel C51 tool, IDE for Universal Programmer, Electrical Machine Design tools for AC machine and Transformer etc.

Material testing laboratory is one of the oldest laboratories in the department. The laboratory is engaged in conducting experiments at both UG and PG level. The laboratory is also used for outside testing jobs.
